Julien Pilet, Guillaume Bonnier, Konstantin Startchev and Pascal Fua
Hydroptere is the fastest sailing boat of the world, sailing over 50 knots. When the Hydroptere team came to present their project to EPFL researchers, I was immediately convinced. Fortunately, I could manage to get the CVLab involved to answer two questions:
- How to measure the shape of the sail during navigation?
- How to measure the immersion of the foil?
The answers, of course, involve cameras and innovative computer vision algorithms.
